In a stunt too absolutely absurd to overlook, The Artist Formerly Known as Captain Kirk dared to cover Cee-Lo Green’s soul-pop insta-classic “F**k You.”  In his signature “spoken word meets drunken hobo” style, Bill Shatner boldly goes where no man thought possible, managing to ruin a perfectly good radio hit.  Adding insult to injury, he achieved this feat on live television……..on the George Lopez show! In the world of DIY choreography, Ok Go, are the undisputed heavyweights.  Having jumpstarted their career with the backyard classic, “A Million Ways,” the sultans of synchronization have since let loose with a chain of multi-platinum Youtube videos.  Previously, the foursome has tasked themselves with plotting and performing elaborate dances with a twist and a thick layer of Velveeta.  With the release of “This Too Shall Pass,” the gang kicked it up a notch, actually hiring an engineering firm to design and build the monumental tribute to Rube Goldberg.  This relinquishing of power was sign of what was to come. Menomena + Suckers | A #1 Turns Into A #2

For as much as I’ve had to say about Menomena this year, you’d think that my memories of their live show would be exclusive to the four-man phenomena (rumor has it, that is how they got their name, Men + Phenomena =Menomena).  However, this is not the case.  As was evidenced by my Antlers experience, there is almost always a #1 fan, and a majority of the time he or she acts like a real #2.
