Top 10 Albums | Summer 2011

0 Comments 08 | July | 2011

Summer has now been breached but the spring sprang some great tunes that shan’t be overlooked.  The top 3 spots on my Albums of the Year list were all replaced by more recent releases and some less obvious shuffling also took place.  Sneak a peek at the music that has carried me beyond Independence Day and place your bets on who will remain through the end of December.

  1. The Antlers | Burst Apart
  2. Bon Iver | Bon Iver
  3. Cults | Cults
  4. Cut Copy | Zonoscope
  5. The Kills | Blood Pressures
  6. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. | It’s a Corporate World
  7. Lupe Fiasco | Lasers
  8. Iron & Wine | Kiss Each Other Clean
  9. The Rural Alberta Advantage | Departing
  10. River City Extension | The Unmistakable Man

Curious to see #11 and above, take a look at the extended list.

We are halfway home and already the list is brimming with solid entries!  Cults is looking to secure “Rookie” honors, and the Antlers are poised to take the big prize.  But with their new album spinning constantly I’m not sure Bon Iver can be denied.  Only time will tell…
