It’s never too early to pass judgment and make much warranted recommendations on this year’s offerings to date. Despite some solid offerings, there are no albums on the market that have sealed a place in history as far as I’m concerned. However, these ten albums bare the fruit of both (relatively) old and (relatively) new musicians and are worth a tasting.
- The Kills | Blood Pressures
- Cut Copy | Zonoscope
- Lupe Fiasco | Lasers
- Iron & Wine | Kiss Each Other Clean
- The Rural Alberta Advantage | Departing
- River City Extension | The Unmistakable Man
- The Strokes | Angles
- Wye Oak | Civilian
- Parts & Labor | Constant Future
- Peter Bjorn & John | Gimme Some
Wanna check out #11 and above, take a look at the extended list.
We’re only 4 months into the year, so there will be some fluctuation as new artists submit their “entries.” Can’t wait for the next 8 months to deliver more great music…and I’m still holding out for a “Rookie of the Year.”
